Like many of you, we believed God would provide through our recent 10-Year Anniversary Campaign. We prayed, planned, and hoped that those gifts would fully meet our current needs. While we are deeply grateful for every donation we received, the response was not enough to sustain the ministry. After carefully reviewing our financial situation, our Board concluded that we needed to honestly share our circumstances and invite God's people to help.

Over the past several years, the cost of caring for vulnerable children has continued to increase while overall giving has not kept pace. Food, utilities, medical care, education, staffing, and government compliance have all become more expensive. We have carefully reduced expenses wherever responsibly possible, but we have now reached a critical point.

Yes. Before asking others to help, we first examined our own stewardship. We have reduced expenses, postponed projects, limited discretionary spending, and carefully reviewed every area of our budget. The Board remains committed to wise financial management while protecting the quality of care our children receive.

Our sincere prayer is that it will not.

However, without additional financial support, we may be forced to reduce the number of children we can serve, reduce staffing, and scale back important services. Our goal is to prevent those painful decisions by raising the support needed to continue this ministry.

Our goal remains $150,000.  These funds will help sustain God’s Grace Children’s Home while we continue strengthening Child Beyond International’s long-term financial foundation.

July 25 was an important planning benchmark, not a date when the children’s home would suddenly close. However, the financial need remains urgent. Reaching our goal will provide the stability needed to confidently continue caring for the children through the remainder of the year.

Operating a children's home requires us to make responsible decisions weeks and months in advance. Staff salaries, food purchases, school expenses, medical care, utilities, and other essential commitments cannot be delayed until the last moment. Without confidence that these resources will be available, we may be forced to begin reducing staff, limiting services, or decreasing the number of children we can care for—decisions that are difficult to reverse.

By reaching this goal now, we can continue providing consistent, high-quality care while also focusing on strengthening Child Beyond International's long-term financial sustainability rather than operating from one month to the next.

Children who have already experienced trauma need stability, not uncertainty. Raising these funds now allows our caregivers to focus on loving and caring for the children rather than living under the constant concern of financial shortfalls.

This emergency appeal is only one part of our response. Our Board is actively evaluating additional fundraising strategies, strengthening relationships with churches and ministry partners, expanding our donor base, and pursuing sustainable sources of support so this ministry can continue serving children for years to come.

No. The mission trip ministry is funded by participating mission teams and is financially separate from God’s Grace Children’s Home. The emergency appeal is specifically focused on sustaining the children’s home ministry and the Christ-centered care provided to vulnerable children.
